For those of you doing CrossFit, you play harder than most, so it makes sense that massage should be a part of your recovery routine. Massage specifically tailored for the CrossFit athlete promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and prepares the body and mind for optimal performance. Sports massage therapy can be used as a means to enhance pre-event preparation and reduce recovery time for maximum performance during training or after an event.
The best times to get a massage:
• Before or after our WOD (please let me know if you plan to do your WOD after your massage, as it will change the type of massage done so your muscles aren't "sleepy")
• During recovery periods – rest days or de-load weeks.
• Before a competition or race. This will help improve your range of motion and mobility for your competition. (3 days pre- race or competition is common, but base your massage appointments on your own personal preference.)
• After a competition or race to help you recover quickly.
